Steven Luo | Founder, President/CEOSteven Luo is a senior at Evergreen Valley High School. He founded The Evergreen Initiative in 2018 to make a difference in his community, while enabling others to have the freedom to do the same. An avid volunteer, Steven has earned several PVSA Gold awards through all of his volunteer work. Outside of his rigorous academics, he is also heavily involved in the leadership of other organizations and clubs, such as the National Director of Technology at GENup, President of EVHS's School Site Council, and Co-Chair of the Santa Clara County Youth Task Force. In his free time, Steven likes to practice the flute and piano, listen to music, code (he's an aspiring computer scientist), and read the news.

Adrian Rozario | Director of Volunteers and ProgramsAdrian Rozario is a senior at EVHS. He joined The Evergreen Initiative in 2018 in an effort to better this community through volunteering, and he has recently helped lead several programs aimed at providing teaching and tutoring to students in need during the pandemic. As a member of the EVHS speech and debate team, Adrian has won several awards for performance. In his spare time, Adrian enjoys playing the piano, running, biking, reading, and studying math and physics.

Maleina Aguinaldo | Co-Director of Tutoring & OperationsMaleina is a senior at Evergreen Valley High School and the Co-Director of Tutoring and Operations in The Evergreen Initiative. Outside of school, Maleina spends her time with her family, volunteering, and playing volleyball. She is also an EVHS 2022 class officer and enjoys working with children. LinkedIn

Sanya Chaturvedi | Co-Director of Tutoring & OperationsSanya Chaturvedi is a senior at Evergreen Valley High School and serves as the Co-Director of Tutoring and Operations. She loves to play basketball and won Most Valuable Player on the junior varsity team her freshman year and since then has been playing varsity. Aside from sports, she also has a passion for business, and was a finalist in the EMGirls International Entrepreneurship competition. Along with that she has started and is the CEO of Ignite, her own athletic clothing brand. She hopes to one day be a successful businesswoman and live in her favorite city: New York.

Aminah Ali | Co-Director of Tutoring & OperationsAminah Ali is a senior at Evergreen Valley High School and the Co-Director of Tutoring and Operations in The Evergreen Initiative. Outside of Evergreen Initiative, she is very interested in music. She used to play the clarinet, currently plays the bass clarinet, and is also learning how to play the double bass. She grew up speaking three languages, and is now learning how to speak a fourth. She hopes to be able to connect with people from all over the world and is very passionate about traveling. She hopes to one day be in a position where she can help out any person who needs it.

Ethan LeEthan Le is a sophomore at Evergreen Valley High School and a part of the social media team. He loves spending his time on the internet, whether it be playing games or surfing through it. He also likes to program in Python and Java.

Lina HuynhLina Huynh is a sophomore at Evergreen Valley High School and is a part of the Social Media Team. Lina enjoys drawing, playing games, and calling her friends in her spare time.

Stephanie WongStephanie Wong is a sophomore at Evergreen Valley High School and a part of the social media team. Outside of Evergreen Initiative, Stephanie is on the cheer team, plays the piano, and loves to spend time with her family, dog, friends, and volunteering.

Aaliyah Jean Villarete | Team LeadAaliyah is currently a senior at Vanden High School and co-leader of the Outreach Team in the Evergreen Initiative. Aaliyah has been a youth leader for 3 years of her ministry and has a love for school spirit as a former cheerleader on the Evergreen Valley HS Varsity Team. She plans to pursue a career in the medical field and invest in social programs for her community in the Philippines. Outside of extracurriculars, she has a passion for music, having played the guitar since 7 years old and as an active member of the SFOA Bella Voces Choir. Aaliyah plans to travel all over the world and live in her favorite cities for at least some time. She also has found a love for houseplants. In the future she will be found in a humble home reading a novel or her favorite romance films within a large ranch with cows, horses, and sheep.

Athena RapinanAthena Rapinan is a senior in a dual-enrollment program called Accel Middle College. She is apart of The Evergreen Initiative’s Media and Outreach Team. Outside of volunteering, Athena likes to spend her time going on bike rides, traveling, playing sports, and cooking. She enjoys studying the sciences and collaborating with others; and aspires to become a doctor one day.

Amber HennyAmber Henny is a senior at Evergreen Valley High School and serves as the Director of Curriculum & Instruction Quality in The Evergreen Initiative. She first joined EI as a creative writing teacher and volunteer tutor. At school, she dedicates her time as an officer of the Bring Change to Mind, Aid to Children Without Parents, and American Medical Student Association clubs. In her free time, she loves to journal, read National Geographic magazines, and spend time scrolling through Spotify.

Nemerjit SinghNemerjit Singh is a senior at Evergreen Valley High School. He has taught numerous subjects including Python, Macroeconomics, and Public Forum and now serves as the Director of Teacher Training and Growth. Outside of EI, Nemer enjoys debating and intends to major in economics and computer science once he graduates from high school.
